Drum Lessons in Manchester
About Our Lessons
At The Groove Hub we cater for students of all ages and abilities, from Beginners through to Advanced players. Our drum lessons are based at our Manchester studio where you'll be playing on real drums right from the first lesson.
All our lessons are tailored to the individual student's needs, no two drummers are the same so we don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to learning to play drums. We'll make sure we're always working towards your personal goals and playing the music you enjoy!
Regular drum lessons are available in 30 minute or 1 hour slots at our studio in Manchester, please see below for pricing. Longer lessons are available on request for students who have to travel further to reach the studio or would like to spend more time focusing on a particular topic.
Lessons are available on a weekly, bi-weekly or ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of each individual student.
We offer discounts for block lesson bookings so please contact us to find out more abut this.

WHAT OUR STUDENTS & their parents say:
“Harry had been playing drums for some time but was making little progress. Thankfully, Grace offered to tutor Harry and within a short space of time Harry has made great progress. Grace has excellent communication skills and has natural teaching ability. Above all Grace’s passion for music has made lessons fun and creative for Harry."

Drum Lessons in Manchester
Our drum lessons can cover a wide range of topics, including: Reading Music Notation, Technique, Creativity, Speed, Coordination, Groove / Feel, Timing, Styles / Genres, Performance and Recording.
Lessons will vary from student to student, depending on your individual goals and the music you enjoy, but we've pulled the guide below together to give you an idea of what kind of topics you might cover in your drum lessons.
As a beginner you'll learn your first beats and fills on a real acoustic drum kit and cymbals. We'll work on developing grooves and fills, start to understand drum notation and introduce some key rudiments you'll use throughout your playing career. We'll also get you playing along to your favourite songs as part of the lessons!
If you're an intermediate player we’ll continue to develop your drumming vocabulary by introducing new genres, rhythms and rudiments, learning how these can be used across grooves and fills. We’ll also look at using dynamics, ghost notes and more advanced techniques to push your drumming to the next level. For gigging drummers we'll also be able to work on live performance skills.
As an advanced player we’ll really hone in on your specific drumming goals. Whether you want to work on technique and speed, develop creativity or learn about studio recording we’ll make sure you are always moving forwards as a drummer.
